Professor John Scott

Evaluation and Measurement Consultant Professor Scott  is primarily primary interested in researching in fields of sociology and criminology. A common theme in his research has been a concern with marginalised social populations and the development of critical and interpretive perspectives to understand the experiences of and social reactions to such populations. He is a specialist in qualitative methodologies. An important direction in his research has been rural and regional social issues and a specialist in rural social research with marginalised populations and have completed a number of local government social plans for communities such as Armidale, Tamworth, Moree and Walcha in North West NSW.  Professor Scott has recently been involved in a major evaluation of Indigenous Night Patrol programs for the Australian Attorney General's Department and has established valuable networks in working with rural and remote communities.
